SMA Muhammadiyah 6 Yogyakarta ialah sekolah BERSAHAJA (Bertakwa, Sabar, Harapan Persyarikatan serta Bangsa, dan Jaya) bercirikan Islami, bermuatan lokal yang mengglobal.
